Spain - Bull fight

WARNING - some graphic photos of the bullfights.  Well we were lead to believe that this type of bullfighting had been banned, little did we know only in some states of Spain when we purchased our tickets.  We were both shocked at what we saw and are now strong supporters of stop the bull fighting. Before they tow the dead bull out of the ring they cut off an ear and throw it into the crowd.  We couldnt believe the fight to catch it.  A total of 6 bulls were slaughted that night.  It certainly wasnt without some drama.  Two of the Matadors had to leap the fence, the bull so close to one he lost his cape, the horse went down while the bull was attacking it with it being some time before they actually got the bull off it and led the horse away and one of the bulls tossed the Matador.  A very sombre night was had after the event.

The horse and his rider go down when the bull attacks.

Spain - Ronda

1.5 hour bus trip from marbella took us to Ronda for the day.  The city stands on a mount split into two by the famous Ronda Gorge.  Incredibloe views looking into the gorge and at the city walls.  We walked over the new bridge!!!!! and into the old quarters.  Very quiet, soooo hot and siesta time found us spending a few hours at a quaint wee restuarant before getting on a bus back.
Puente Nuevo (the new bridge) built in the 18th century

The city walls have been restored.  They were originally built in the 13 th & 16th century
